Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, an IAS officer of the 1998 Gujarat cadre batch, was born on 24 August 1970. He holds a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and an M.P.A. in Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota, USA. Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat since 22 December 2025. His previous roles include Principal Secretary, Chairman, Managing Director, Chief Commissioner, Secretary to Government, Commissioner, Additional Secretary to Government, District Collector, and Assistant Collector. He was awarded The Best District Development Officer, securing first position in merit. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Gujarati.
