Sanjay Kumar, born on January 1, 1972, is a 1995 batch IAS officer of the Telangana cadre. He holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Roorkee University, an M.Tech. in Building Science and Construction Management from IIT Delhi, and an M.Sc. in Public Management & Governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Currently serving as Special Chief Secretary in the Rural Development, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, and Rural Sanitation and Drinking Water department since February 26, 2026, he has previously held various positions including Special Chief Secretary to Government in Industries & Commerce and ITE&C departments, Principal Secretary, Director General, and District Collector. He is proficient in English,
