Sanjay Kumar, born on June 4, 1966, is a 1990 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre. He holds an M.Sc. in Physics and a postgraduate degree in Economics. Currently serving as Secretary at the School Education and Literacy Department, Ministry of Education, New Delhi since December 10, 2025, he has held various positions including Additional Secretary, Officer on Special Duty, Principal Secretary, Executive Director, Private Secretary, and District Collector and Magistrate. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Urdu, Sanjay Kumar continues to contribute to public administration in his ongoing service.
