Sanjay Gupta, born on June 5, 1966, is a 1988 batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre. He holds a Graduate degree in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Management. Currently, he serves as the Additional Chief Secretary in the Town and Country Planning Department of Himachal Pradesh since October 1, 2025. Throughout his career, he has held numerous positions including Chairman, Principal Secretary, Secretary, Managing Director, Director, Additional Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Settlement Officer, Editor, and Sub-Divisional Officer. He is proficient in English and Hindi and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
