Sanjay Bansal, born on 10 February 1975, is a 2004 batch IAS officer of the West Bengal cadre. He holds a B.E. and LL.B., as well as an M.Sc. from Calcutta University. Currently, he serves as Secretary at West Bengal's Backward Classes Welfare Department since 30 January 2023. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Secretary, Additional Secretary, Programme Director, Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Secretary, Joint Secretary, District Collector and Magistrate, Officer on Special Duty to Minister, District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Under Secretary, and Assistant Collector. He is proficient in English and Hindi.
