Sameer Sharma, born on 15 November 1961, is a retired IAS officer from the 1985 Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry from Delhi University, a B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry, and a postgraduate degree in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati. He served as Chief Secretary to the Government in the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department. His extensive career includes roles such as Deputy Secretary to CM, Joint Collector, Director General, Joint Secretary, Managing Director, Principal Secretary, and District Collector. He received the V Ramachandran Award for Excellence in Urban Decentralization and a Doctor of Letters degree.
