He holds a B.E. in Mech.Engg. from Amravati University and an M.Tech. in Prodn.Engg. from IIT Delhi. Chavan serves as the Director (Census Operations) at the Registrar General & Census Commissioner of India. Fluent in English and Marathi, he has showcased his administrative skills in various capacities.
