S Thangaswamy, born on March 3, 1953, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1994 Tamil Nadu cadre. A graduate by education, he served in various capacities including Deputy Secretary, District Collector, Joint Secretary to the Chief Minister, Director, Executive Director, Special Secretary, Commissioner and Secretary, and Secretary. His most recent position was Commissioner in the Minority Welfare Department from November 26, 2011, to March 31, 2013. Throughout his career, he held multiple leadership roles contributing to the administration of Tamil Nadu.
