S Subramanya, born on 20 May 1956, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 Karnataka cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Botany, a graduate degree in Chemistry, and a post-Ph.D. qualification in Plant Pathology. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Commissioner, Secretary, Officer on Special Duty to Minister, Managing Director, Project Administrator, Deputy Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister, Director, Deputy Secretary, and Assistant Commissioner. His most recent position was Principal Secretary in the Agriculture Department at Bangalore, Karnataka, from 13 June 2009 to 30 September 2009.
