S Savarkar, born on April 6, 1941, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 batch of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds postgraduate qualifications in Economics and a graduate degree in Law. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Additional Secretary Director, Inspector General, Commissioner, District Collector, Joint Commissioner, and Deputy Commissioner. His most recent position was Commissioner in the Law and Justice Department from December 1, 1999, to April 30, 2001.
