S S Pattanashetty, born on August 1, 1957, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2000 batch of the Karnataka cadre. He holds an M.A. in Sociology from Karnataka University. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Managing Director, Deputy Commissioner, District Magistrate, Commissioner, Commissioner Director, and Deputy Commissioner Director. His most recent position was Secretary at Karnataka from November 3, 2016, to July 31, 2017, within the Department of Commerce and Industry. Pattanashetty’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple leadership roles in the Karnataka state government.
