S R Kakodkar, born on March 17, 1937, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1961 Maharashtra cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Philosophy and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration. Throughout his career, Kakodkar served in various capacities including District Collector, Joint Secretary, Commissioner, Managing Director, Director, and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister. His most recent position was Principal Secretary in the Finance Department of Maharashtra. His extensive service record reflects a broad range of administrative roles within the state government.
