S N Bandyopadhyay, born on November 6, 1942, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 batch of the West Bengal cadre. He holds postgraduate qualifications in Applied Geology and a law degree (LL.B.). Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Junior Scale, Deputy Secretary, Additional District Magistrate, Director, and Director on Compulsory Wait. His most recent appointment was as Principal Secretary in the Co-operation Department from February 2, 2000, to November 30, 2002.
