S M Vijayanand, born on 15 March 1957, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1981 Kerala cadre. He holds postgraduate degrees in English and Applied Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Labour Commissioner, Deputy Secretary, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary, and Secretary. His most recent position was Secretary in the Department of Panchayati Raj from 26 February 2015 to 25 April 2016. Vijayanand’s extensive administrative experience spans multiple leadership roles within the government, reflecting a long-standing commitment to public service in Kerala.
