Over his career, he served in various capacities including Assistant Collector, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, District Collector, Secretary, Managing Director, Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary, and Principal Secretary. His most recent position was Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat in the General Administration Department (Personnel) from January 1, 1995, to April 30, 1997. Mr. Shelat’s extensive service reflects a broad administrative experience within the Gujarat state government.
