S Hemachandran, born on 12 July 1945, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 batch of the A G M U T cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Geology. During his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Project Director, and Secretary. His most recent position was Commissioner & Secretary at the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a role he held from 29 October 2001 to 31 July 2005.
