S D Sharma, born on 07 July 1940, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1974 Gujarat cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Physics. Over his career, Sharma served in various capacities including Principal Secretary to Governor, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary, Development Commissioner, Director, Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Secretary, District Development Officer, Project Administrator, Deputy Director, Administration Officer, Registrar, and Sub-Divisional Magistrate. His most recent position was Chief Executive to the Governor at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, commencing on 31 July 2000.
