S Chockalingam, born on 13 May 1967, is a 1996 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Maharashtra cadre. He holds an LL.B. degree and is currently serving as Principal Secretary & Chief Electoral Officer at Maharashtra's General Administration Department since 5 March 2024. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Settlement Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner, Commissioner, Deputy Secretary, Inspector General, Additional Commissioner (Sales), District Collector, CEO, Assistant Collector, and Director General. He has been honored with the Mahatma Gandhi Award for peace and communal harmony and the Rajiv Gandhi Prashaskiy Gatimanata Abhiyan. He is proficient in English and Tamil.
