He holds a graduate degree in Medicine and is currently serving as Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare Department, New Delhi, since January 2, 2020. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Secretary General, Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Chairperson, Principal Secretary to Government, Director General, Joint Secretary, Commissioner, Chief Executive Officer, Special Secretary, Managing Director, District Magistrate, and Sub Divisional Officer. He is proficient in Bengali, English, Hindi, Nepalese, and Urdu.
