Rajesh Lakhani, born on 26 May 1969, is a 1992 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a B.E. from Pt Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur, and an M.Tech. from IIT Delhi. Currently serving as Commissioner (JS level) in the Department of School Education and Literacy since 1 February 2025, he has held various positions including Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to Government, Chief Electoral Officer, Secretary, Managing Director, Chairman, District Collector, and Assistant Collector. He is proficient in English, Hindi, Sindhi, and Tamil. Rajesh Lakhani continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
