Dr. Rajendra Kumar, born on January 3, 1967, is a 1992 batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a Graduate degree in Civil Engineering, an M.Tech. in System Management, and a Ph.D. in International Economic Development and Regional Planning. Currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Border Management under the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi since July 2, 2025, Dr. Kumar has held various positions including Private Secretary, Additional Secretary, Director General, Principal Secretary, Industries Commissioner & Director, Joint Secretary, District Collector, Chief Executive Officer, Commissioner, and Additional Collector. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Tamil.
