Rajat Kumar, born on 12 November 1963, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1991 Telangana cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from Osmania University, and an M.P.A. in International Development from Harvard University. Over his career, he served in various capacities including Principal Secretary, Commissioner, Director, Managing Director, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Joint Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, Project Director, and Sub Collector. His most recent role was Principal Secretary of the Forest and Environment Department from 30 June 2017 to 30 November 2023.
