R Venkateswaran, born on 30 June 1962, is a retired IAS officer from the 1990 Rajasthan cadre. He holds a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, an LL.B. in Law, and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Commissioner, Secretary, District Collector and District Magistrate, Director, Deputy Secretary, Managing Director, SDO, and Secretary to Government. His most recent role was Commissioner at Rajasthan from 10 February 2014 to 30 June 2022. He was associated with the Departmental Enquiries Department before retirement.
