R Subrahmanyam, born on August 5, 1962, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1985 Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Economics and an M.A. in International Relations. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Secretary, Special Secretary, Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Principal Secretary, Managing Director, Director, District Collector and Magistrate, Deputy Secretary, District Development Officer, Sub Collector, and Assistant Collector. His most recent position was Secretary of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department from December 13, 2019, to August 31, 2022.
