R Shankar Nigam, born on April 28, 1938, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre. Throughout his career, he held various positions including General Manager, Under Secretary, Additional Director, and Joint Director. His most recent role was Special Secretary in the Home Department, serving from July 1, 1992, to April 30, 1996.
