R S Saxena, born on March 2, 1953, is a retired IAS officer from the 1978 Gujarat cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Physics, a postgraduate degree in Physics, and a Diploma in German. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Commissioner, Managing Director, Secretary, and Principal Secretary. His most recent role was Additional Chief Secretary in the Science and Tech Department of Gujarat from August 3, 2010, to March 31, 2013. Saxena’s extensive service reflects a broad administrative experience across multiple departments within the Gujarat government.
