R S Kanna, born on June 10, 1948, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1989 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Joint Secretary, Managing Director, Joint Commissioner, Deputy Secretary, District Collector, and Settlement Officer. His most recent position was Director in the Backward Classes Welfare Department from January 24, 2007, to June 30, 2008. Mr. Kanna’s extensive service reflects a diverse administrative experience within the Tamil Nadu government.
