R S Chawla, born on March 16, 1936, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1981 batch, Punjab cadre. He holds graduate degrees in English and Sanskrit. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Junior Scale, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Managing Director, Joint Commissioner, and Deputy Secretary. His most recent position was Secretary in the Energy Department from May 1, 1988, to March 1, 1989.
