R Rajagopal, born on 16 June 1961, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1984 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds graduate degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Director, Managing Director, Principal Secretary, and Chairman and Managing Director. His most recent position was Additional Chief Secretary in the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department from 28 November 2017 to 30 June 2021. Rajagopal's extensive administrative experience spans multiple senior roles across government departments.
