R N Sharma, born on July 1, 1940, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1983 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Ancient History. Throughout his career, Sharma served in various capacities including Additional District Magistrate, Registrar, Director, Secretary, and Special Secretary. His most recent position was Special Secretary in the Department of Planning and Programme Implementation from August 1, 1997, to June 30, 2000.
