R N Mukherjee, born on May 1, 1938, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Junior Scale, Deputy Secretary, Additional District Magistrate, and Joint Secretary. His most recent position was Joint Secretary in the Department of Labour and Employment from July 1, 1991, to April 30, 1996. Mukherjee's extensive service reflects his long-standing commitment to the Indian Administrative Service.
