R Lalvena, born on 25 October 1977, is an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2001 batch, Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds a graduate degree and an M.A. from North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. Currently, he serves as the Commissioner at Chennai in the Food Safety and Drugs Administration department since 16 June 2022. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Commissioner, Director, Secretary to Government, Additional Secretary, Controller, Project Officer, Additional Collector, Sub Collector, and Special Collector. He is proficient in English, Hindi, and Mizo. He continues to serve in the IAS.
