R Kasinathan, born on March 10, 1946, is a retired IAS officer from the 1980 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds postgraduate qualifications in Economics, along with graduate degrees in Law and English. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Inspector General, District Collector, Secretary, Managing Director, and Joint Secretary. His most recent role was Commissioner and Director in the Art and Culture Department from June 1, 2001, to March 31, 2006. Kasinathan's extensive experience spans administrative, revenue, and cultural departments within the Indian Administrative Service.
