R Karikal Valaven, born on 31 July 1963, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1989 Andhra Pradesh cadre. He holds graduate degrees in History and Law. Over his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector and Magistrate, Commissioner, Managing Director, Secretary, Principal Secretary, and Special Chief Secretary. His most recent role was Special Chief Secretary in the Industries and Commerce Department from 4 May 2020 to 31 July 2023.
