R K Kanwar, born on April 1, 1939, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1982 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He holds a postgraduate degree in Economics, a graduate degree in Economics, and a Diploma in Social Work. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Inspector General, Joint Secretary, District Collector, Director, Additional Commissioner, Joint Managing Director, Additional District Magistrate, and General Manager. His most recent position was Chief Electoral Officer at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from August 1, 1995, to March 31, 1997, within the Panchayati Raj Department.
