R Jaya, born on June 10, 1969, is an IAS officer of the 1995 Tamil Nadu cadre. She holds an M.A. and M.Phil. in Sociology. Currently serving as Secretary in the Special Initiatives Department since February 24, 2026, she has held various positions including Additional Secretary, Joint Secretary, Special Secretary, Member Secretary, Director, Special Officer & Managing Director, District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, and Additional Collector. Fluent in English, Kannada, and Tamil, R Jaya continues to contribute to the administrative framework of Tamil Nadu. She is currently in service.
