Currently, he serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority, Andhra Pradesh, a position he assumed on 13 January 2026. His previous roles include Ex-Officio Deputy Secretary, Director, and Additional Director. Rao continues to contribute to the administrative framework of Andhra Pradesh through his service in the IAS.
