Currently serving as Secretary at Gandhinagar in the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department (Housing and Nirmal Gujarat) since April 5, 2023, Gohil has previously held positions including Collector & District Magistrate, Collector, and District Development Officer. He was recognized as the Best District Development Officer for the year 2015-16. Fluent in Gujarati, he continues to serve in the IAS with a focus on urban development initiatives.
