R Arjun, born on 21 September 1984, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2010 batch, West Bengal cadre. He holds a B.E. from Anna University Chennai and an M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Science. Throughout his career, he has served in various capacities including Assistant Magistrate, Managing Director, Senior Special Secretary, Joint Secretary, District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, and Secretary. Currently, he is the District Magistrate at Murshidabad, a position he has held since 19 March 2026. He is proficient in English and Tamil and continues to serve in the IAS.
