Pratyaya Amrit, born on July 7, 1967, is a 1991 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre. He holds an M.A. in History and is currently serving as the Chief Secretary of Bihar since September 1, 2025. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Under Secretary, Deputy Development Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer, Secretary, Mission Director, Managing Director, Private Secretary, District Collector and Magistrate, Vice Chairperson, Director, Joint Secretary, OSD to Chief Secretary, and Additional Chief Secretary. He is proficient in English and Hindi. Pratyaya Amrit continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
