Prashant, born on 22 July 1964, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1988 West Bengal cadre. He holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in History. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Chief Vigilance Officer, Director, Principal Secretary, District Magistrate, Joint Secretary, Managing Director, Additional District Magistrate, and Sub Divisional Officer. His most recent position was Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist in the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas from 18 August 2009 to 31 March 2015.
