Pramal Kumar Samanta, born on 18 February 1953, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1997 batch of the West Bengal cadre. Throughout his career, he held various positions including District Magistrate, Managing Director, Director, Joint Secretary, and Additional Secretary. His most recent role was Additional Secretary in the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department, serving from 29 August 2012 to 28 February 2013. Mr. Samanta’s extensive service reflects his commitment to administrative leadership within the Government of West Bengal.
