He holds a Graduate degree in Chemistry and a Diploma in Management. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Principal Secretary, Joint Secretary, Chief Vigilance Officer, Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Director, Joint Textile Commissioner, District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Additional Executive Officer, and Assistant Collector. His most recent position was State Editor in the West Bengal District Gazetteers from 7 February 2015 to 31 August 2015.
