Prabir Basu, born on April 21, 1941, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1965 batch, Gujarat cadre. He holds graduate degrees in Law and Economics, along with a postgraduate degree in Economics. Throughout his career in the Revenue department, Basu served in various capacities including Commissioner at Gujarat from November 30, 2000, to December 30, 2001. His extensive experience includes roles such as Principal Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Managing Director, Municipal Commissioner, CEO, Deputy Secretary, District Collector, and District Development Officer. Basu’s diverse administrative tenure reflects his long-standing commitment to public service in Gujarat.
