Parveen Kumar Thind, born on April 21, 1980, is a 2007 batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre. He holds a B.E. in Production Engineering from Punjab University, Chandigarh, and an M.A. in Public Policy from IGNOU Delhi. Currently, he serves as Director at the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi (since March 2, 2022). His past roles include Director, Special Secretary, Labour Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Secretary, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Additional Chief Administrator, SDO, and Assistant Commissioner (UT). He is proficient in English and Punjabi.
