Pankaj Kumar, born on January 1, 1970, is a 1997 batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre. He holds a graduate degree in Civil Engineering and an M.Tech. in Soil Science. Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary in the Rural Development Department of Bihar since December 30, 2025. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including Sub-Divisional Officer, Managing Director, Director, Under Secretary, Deputy Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner, Secretary, Commissioner, District Officer, District Collector and Magistrate, Registrar, and Special Secretary. He is proficient in English and Hindi and continues to serve in the Indian Administrative Service.
