Dr. P Umanath, born on December 2, 1974, is an Indian Administrative Service officer from the 2001 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds an M.B.B.S. degree and is proficient in English, Hindi, and Tamil. Throughout his career, he has served in various capacities including Managing Director, Commissioner, Joint Secretary, Director, District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, and Assistant Collector. Currently, he is serving as Secretary - II to the Chief Minister at Chennai in the Secretariat department since May 7, 2021. Dr. Umanath continues to be an active member of the Indian Administrative Service.
