P R Soman, born on June 9, 1940, is a retired IAS officer from the 1980 Kerala cadre. He holds graduate degrees in Political Science and Law. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including Deputy Secretary, Director, Additional Secretary, Secretary, District Collector, Managing Director, Deputy Collector, and Junior Scale positions. His most recent designation was Secretary from October 1, 1996, to February 14, 1997. He was associated with the Land Revenue Department as the Director of Census Operations. His extensive service reflects a diverse administrative experience within the Indian Administrative Service.
