P R Shampath, born on November 14, 1953, is a retired IAS officer from the 1988 Tamil Nadu cadre. He holds postgraduate degrees in Chemistry and Law (LL.B.). Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Deputy Secretary, Managing Director, Director, Joint Transport Commissioner, Additional Commissioner, Member Secretary, Chief Executive Officer, and Commissioner. His most recent position was Principal Secretary and Commissioner in the Art and Culture Department from June 28, 2013, to November 30, 2013. His diverse roles reflect extensive experience in administrative and executive functions within the Tamil Nadu government.
