P R Dasgupta, born on 15 May 1940, is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer from the 1963 Maharashtra cadre. He holds a graduate and postgraduate degree in History. Throughout his career, he served in various capacities including District Collector, Secretary to the Chief Minister, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary, Commissioner, and Administrator. He also held the position of OSD to Minister, Project Director, Consultant, and Secretary to the Governor. His most recent designation was Chairman at Maharashtra in the Department of Food and Public Distribution.
